Great Selection, App Needs Improvements

Hallmark, UpTV, GAC, and Lifetime are some of my favorite channel options, but the app could use some serious work. When I open the app to pause, rewind, or fast-forward a recorded movie or television show that I’m watching, it always restarts. Additionally, the app doesn’t save our watch history, so if you want to pick up where you left off later, you’ll need to look up the show again. It almost never really does save our advancement. A “watched” check mark or some other method of classifying the content we’ve recorded would be ideal, allowing us to keep track of what we’ve already seen and what we haven’t. Additionally, if we use Chromecast to stream to our TV, the closed captioning is inoperable. It would be wonderful to have the option of using our xBox or playstation to access Friendsly, just like other streaming services.

After reading other reviews, let me first remind everyone: This is live television; unlike the majority of your mainstream services, it airs the same content at the same time as other providers. Therefore, since it is, uh, LIVE, you can’t skip or jump ahead. Second, the selection’s price is unmatched! It is definitely worth it!! They have a fantastic on-demand section with just-there movies and a 72-hour look-back feature. My main draws were THREE HALLMARK CHANNELS, PixL (commercial-free movies), and UpTV (original shows and movies). Curiosity Stream, Outdoor, and Game Show Network… such awesome selection! For those who feel there isn’t a wide enough selection, stop for a second and consider carefully what you watch. Considering that you cannot simultaneously watch 500 channels,.. I have a ton of amazing things to watch while saving a ton of money! You can try the free trial and you won’t regret it because it is available on many platforms.!!

Needs Better Controls

The available shows and movies are great, and I enjoy the app, but I really dislike the playback controls. I can only fast-forward and rewind for ten seconds at a time. To move forward or backward for another 10 seconds, I must wait until the control is available. The majority of apps allow users to fast forward up to 30 seconds at once, and they can do so repeatedly. For my LG smart TV, I was looking for an app, but I couldn’t find one. Any upcoming plans for one? Others have complained that when they pause a recording, it restarts without their permission. I have watched three shows on the app and paused them several times without encountering this problem. I hope I avoid running into this.

Love It!

Since we cut the cable cord, I have grown to love this app immensely.” The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel was one of the reasons we kept cable for such a long time; I didn’t want to give it up! Consequently, this app was a great fix. I also appreciate the ability to watch it on my phone while working outside, exercising, or moving between different rooms in my home. It has worked flawlessly for me, so perhaps some of the problems others had with it have been resolved. If you enjoy Hallmark and their other channels, in my opinion, it’s totally worth the money! Additionally, the additional channels are just a perk. I highly recommend!!

LOVE, But Not Everything…

Okay, I absolutely LOVE this app. My mom originally purchased it so that my mom and I could watch Hallmark together, but we have since discovered all the other shows and movies. Since we don’t have a UP subscription, I appreciate that you added UP TV because they air shows like Heartland, Reba, and Bringing Up Bates.) As you can see, we love this wayyy better than anything, but there are a few tweaks that I would like to mention. My entire family loves to sit down in the living room after dinner and watch Family Feud on The Game Show Network or LHOTP on Hallmark Drama (my favorite show lol). You cannot see where you are going or how far you are moving back or forward when watching recorded or on-demand content. which can be aggravating when attempting to skip commercials. Additionally, occasionally when I watch a show on demand or from a recording, the beginning is skipped.! I have to skip ahead to where I was, but I can’t see it after that! Furthermore, I believe it would be cool if you could search for a series and have a list of all the episodes, with a separate section for those that will (or have) been broadcast. Five stars overall, but PLEASE fix the problems!! 

Great Service – App Improvements Needed

I adore the service and believe that the cost of being able to record current and past programming in addition to watching live TV and on-demand movies and shows is incredibly affordable. The app itself, however, is lacking. The search function is terrible. Despite being on the schedule, it might occasionally show what you’re looking for and might occasionally not. Additionally, sometimes when you search for something, unrelated items will appear. It doesn’t hold the spot on your movie very well when using a phone. So having to keep going back and looking for a spot can be very annoying. Additionally, there have been a few occasions recently where shows that I am aware should be on at a specific time and date aren’t appearing as scheduled.

Love The App!

I didn’t want to need cable just to watch Hallmark movies, but I almost did, which is why I love the app. When I saw this app advertised on Facebook, I downloaded it right away! Purchasing the bundle with Hallmark movie channels through cable is MUCH more expensive than doing this. I also appreciate that movies can be recorded and played at any time. Only my older Google Chromecast model allows me to watch it outside of my bedroom, which is the only reason I didn’t give it five stars. I recently purchased a brand-new television with built-in Chromecast, but regrettably it is incompatible with the more recent model. I’m really hoping this bug is fixed soon because I’d really like to be able to invite my girlfriends over for a Hallmark movie night.

Needs Improvement

Although the app could use some work, the service is excellent. Even when you type in the exact title, the search function appears to return every movie that is currently available but the one you are looking for. If you switch to guide search, it will only appear if you have recorded it or if it is present in the current guide. The ability to view all of the recordings of the same movie that I have made would be useful. It only displays the first time you’ve recorded the movie, so I’m not sure if I’ll still have it after the time period deletes it because I occasionally record the same movie more than once. Therefore, kindly show every recording of the same movie.

Great Selection, Bad Execution

The movies are excellent, but using the on-demand feature frequently results in an error message: The video on FrndlyTV could not be loaded. Usually, your position is saved where you last left off when you encounter this error message, pause the video, or experience battery failure. Recently, though, it has stopped remembering the position, so you must restart any interrupted movies from the beginning because there is no fast-forwarding option.
